Oh. My. Gods. what a start! I already know I'm in for something truly epic. Nice chord progressions. Uh, get it! 1:00-2:22 and then that drop into those break beats or dub step percussion. And it just gets better and better. It sounds like a death machine being worked on in a garage from hell. Just a death tank that's about to be unleashed on the world. I can't think of anything you could have done differently or better...maybe a little repetitive from 2:57-3:27 but that's if I'm trying REALLY hard to find constructive criticism. I found a new favorite artist today. Thank you for this!

Edit: If this is you being rushed then what do you sound like when you take your time? Do you have any links to social media that I can follow? I'd love to hear more from you.

"It sounds like a death machine being worked on in a garage from hell." Dude, huge lol. So far the best analogy I've heard. Big thanks for the complimentary review too.

My audition piece Coarse Sand I spent over 28 hours on so there was definitely a lot of work in that one. If you go on my YouTube channel I did a remix of Yours by Andrew Huang that I put a large amount of effort into it and I'm pretty proud of how that sounds too.

Thanks again. :)

Very pretty beginning. It gets going pretty quickly into something I didn't expect at all. I love the beat! I think I see where you're going with this and I think you just about have it. I think some more variety in that bass during the more quiet parts without the vocals could help bring the listener in. There are some really pretty harmonies in there. I love what you did at 2:32-2:46. You took a chance and I like to think it paid off. I agree with a lot of what JRTH said.

Starts out with a funky bass line that has me hooked. The progression of the percussion is very interesting. And that piano is beautiful. It's great to hear that you're stepping out of your comfort zone, that is something I need to do more of. From 1:14-1:28 is gorgeous. I wish you would have expanded on that a little more but it still grooves. Fun choir. Gets a little crowded... but it feels pretty epic. I think a little attention in making a more driving beat during certain parts of this song could help. All in all it is a really cool song. Still humming that bass line. Nice work.

Thank you very much for the thorough (and informative) review! It's always good to hear suggestions and opinions on how to improve for the future, and I really appreciate that. Very happy you liked the bass and keyboard parts! :)

OOOH, that's unique and really interesting. I like the decisions you made in the beginning. Gets a little crowded but that bass ties it all up into a pretty dangerous sounding adventure. Maybe a little distortion in that lead from 1:46-2:13 because when it picks back up it is just glorious. I can't wait for your youtube channel!

Nice timing on that beginning melody. And that percussion is crisp and clear. very nice. And then all hell breaks loose. Way to establish a melody! And when it gets going it is infectious. I can hear the hard work and talent saturating this creation. So far my favorite part is 1:52-2:19. Just bad ass. Quality work here. Stagnates a tiny bit towards the end of the song but by no means is it bad because it just turns in a different direction and implodes on itself. Love it.

I love how this starts out. So crisp! And that drop hits like a mother... Nice melody, very chill but also complex. I love these break downs and build ups, very well done. That bass is killer. And good job on the vocals. The mix between crisp mellow vibes and planet crushing bass is perfect. I can't help but bob my head and tap my feet, very engaging. The "second act" doesn't disappoint with that bass talking directly to the animal part of my cerebral cortex. And then you calm it down before it makes my head explode. I can't think of a single thing that needs work. Well done! I'll see you on Youtube.

Thanks for the feedback, Cheshyre. :)

Ooooh, what is this feeling? It is tangible, I can hold it, but I can't define it yet... that build sure helps. Good use of vocodex, solid lead in and break beat! But this feeling, what is it? It feels like I may have lost something that was once dear to me. Oh my, that bass. It makes me sad as I embrace myself, alone, and dancing in the dark... are these tears? Is my face wet or is there something in here with me? Crying for me? Am I awake?

Thank you for this, JRTH. I needed a good cry.

JRTH responds:

Hahaha mission accomplished - Happy to hear I made you feel something.

I like this ominous feeling in the beginning. That percussion is stealthy and sounds clean. Pretty solid build up and at :58 seconds I smiled like a little girl. Very satisfying. The tempo is solid, the samples are solid, it sounds really polished. And I love that string/piano duet. Yes please! Nice drop in that second section. Maybe go a little further off the deep end next time? Either way, I love it. I'm gonna come check out your youtube channel but I should be doing homework. Thank you for the lovely break.

A little bit of a trip up in the beginning. Kinda sounded like some instruments were being played over others or maybe the timing was off by a hair. Kinda fighting for attention. The kick hits a bit too hard but the percussion is really fun. And I like the intro to the melody. There's the melody, I like it too. Sounds influenced by some good RPG style songs but different enough that it is definitely its own song. And it gets dark! That bass is nightmare fuel. This song takes its time and it isn't afraid to take its time establishing itself. The only downfall there is that it gets a tad repetitive but I can dig it.

Guitar sounds good. You have a really good voice! Nice mixing so far. Drums and bass come in at a great time and in a great way too. Something in the drums might be a bit too overbearing but I understand the desire to have them take front and center. I wasn't sure how the chorus would sound compared to the rest of the song but it fits really well. I like the timing and the way those words come out. Maybe a heavier distorted guitar solo around 2:03 to 2:22... oh wait, there it is! Well played! I might have made that come in sooner but I'm so glad that it came in. And good ending. Well done.

And upon the 2nd listen, forget what I said about the section I mentioned. You know what you're doing.
